Anatomy of a Cuplock Standard

A cuplock standard has a fixed bottom cup welded at each node. The bottom cup holds the ledger blade ends. A sliding top cup moves down over the ledger blades and locks them in place.

The standard has a spigot at the top end. The spigot fits into the bottom of the next standard. This connection aligns the verticals and transfers load between lifts. The spigot is fixed with a pin or bolt.

Bottom cups are welded at 500 mm intervals along the standard. This spacing sets the vertical distance between ledgers. Ledgers can be connected at any cup position. The fixed bottom cup and sliding top cup form a positive connection without loose parts.

Specify Your Cuplock Standard

Length mixStandards are available from 0.5 m to 3.0 m. Common lengths include 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, and 3.0 m. The length mix depends on lift heights.
Wall thicknessStandard tube wall is 2.75, 3.0, or 3.2 mm. Other thicknesses can be produced on request. Wall thickness affects weight and service life.
FinishHot-dip galvanized is the standard finish. Painted or powder coated finishes are optional. Galvanized standards can have a service life of 15 years or more.
Spigot typeSpigots can be plain or with a hole for a pin. The spigot diameter is smaller than the standard tube. It is welded inside the top end.
MaterialStandards are made from Q355 steel. This material is used for vertical load-bearing members. Ledgers and braces use Q235.
Tube diameterCuplock standards use 48.3 mm outside diameter tube. This matches the cuplock ledger blade geometry. The cup assembly is welded to this tube.
